Chocolate covered salted figs are a vibrant treat perfect for dessert or even breakfast with coffee! This simple recipe takes seasonal fruit and elevates it with a chocolate and sea salt coating.
Wash and cut the figs. Slice the bottom and then pull them apart, rather than slicing fully down the middle. Add broken chocolate and coconut oil to a bowl. Microwave in 20-second increments, stirring in between. You may need to add more coconut oil if it’s not liquid enough. After 1-2 microwave rounds, stir to melt the remaining chocolate, being careful not to over-microwave and burn it. Dip figs in the melted chocolate and place onto parchment paper. Sprinkle flaky sea salt on top. Add to the freezer for 15 minutes, just enough so the chocolate hardens but the figs don’t freeze. Take out and enjoy! Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for a couple of days.
